STG WAREHOUSE Cutomer Profile: BAG BOY

The Bag Boy Company, a Virginia based manufacturer of golf pull carts, bags, and accessories has been one of the most respected brand names in the golf industry for over 50 years. Founded in 1946 as the Jarman Company, Bag Boy's products can be found throughout the world with top market share in the United States and Canada.

Operating under the slogan "uncompromised quality for over 50 years," Bag Boy separated from the Ben Hogan Company in December of 1997 and is headed by the talented and aggressive team of President David Boardman and Vice-President Leighton Klevana.

The Bag Boy-St. George partnership began in early January when Boardman and Klevana determined that if their company was going to further expand then they would have to find the most cost-effective way to distribute their products. In a recent interview with the STG Bulletin Mr. Klevana recalled that "Since our specialty is producing golf equipment we wanted to allocate and dedicate all of our man power to what we do best. We went with St. George because distribution is what they do best."

Services St. George performs for Bag Boy include: drayage from the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, quality control, repackaging, and palletizing. The finished product is then shipped to locations across the United States.

Already an established market leader in the domestic market, Bag Boy is setting its goals on broadening its product line in the very near future and plans to further utilize St. George's services. Mr Klevana is very optimistic about Bag Boy's future. "We're developing tightly focused marketing programs and have been implementing new product development ideas that have enabled us to invigorate the company."
